The Brucher Dam in Marienheide began operating in 1913 to store process water and provide flood protection for the upper Wupper region. Today, it is available for water sports, camping, and recreational use. This includes designated swimming areas, one of which is accessible and features a ramp leading into the water. A barrier-free circular path of approximately 3 km allows visitors to walk around the dam.
