The smallest cycling circuit in the Oberberg region's holiday resort of Reichshof covers approximately 16 km and climbs about 250 meters in altitude. The start and finish are located at the Catholic Church of St. Boniface in Wildbergerhütte.
Starting from St. Boniface Church, we turn left into the center of Wildbergerhütte, cross Siegener Straße, pass the Wesselwerk power plant on our right, and head towards Nespen. Above this hamlet, there's a view of the Wiehl Dam. Here, at the eastern end of the reservoir, is the so-called "Krombacher Island," famous throughout Germany for its beer advertising. We continue uphill towards Hespert, passing Lüsberg and Hassel, leaving the 18-hole golf course to our right.
About 100 meters before the "Ballebäuschen" inn in Hespert, which owes its name to an old Bergisches Land specialty still served in its cozy dining room, we turn right towards Langenseifen and Euel. The golf course is now on our right.
The observer can see that the soil here is very barren. In earlier times, farmers primarily cultivated oats to produce flour or used them as animal feed. Because of this, and the widespread poverty in the country, this region was nicknamed "Oat Spain".
The route from Euel to the village of Heidberg is downhill, but then it immediately climbs again towards Hahnenseifen.
The route now descends towards the hamlet of Wiehl, then climbs via Komp and Hardt. Ahead on our left lies the tripoint where the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Westphalia, and the Rhineland meet. Shortly before reaching the hamlet of Kamp, we turn right towards Nosbach and Wildbergerhütte. The Landhaus Wuttke, with its pleasant atmosphere, offers a welcome opportunity for refreshments before we return to our starting point.
