From station to station

This varied hike from Ründeroth to Engelskirchen, rich in history and culture, begins and ends at the train station in both Ründeroth and Engelskirchen. A climb of 210 meters leads to the Hohe Warte observation tower, but the reward is a panoramic view across the Bergisches Land region and as far as the Sauerland. After descending, you can delve into the architectural history of Bellingroth, one of Engelskirchen's oldest villages, and admire its many beautiful half-timbered houses and gardens. Further downstream along the Agger River, you can marvel at Haus Ley, one of the oldest castles in the Oberbergischer Kreis district. Finally, almost at the end of the tour, the grounds of the former Ermen & Engels company offer another highlight of Engelskirchen's history. Where a cotton mill once stood, you'll now find the town hall, the industrial museum, the fire station, the Engels Museum, the Caritas center, medical practices, and apartments.
