- Destination: Leichlingen Town Hall, Am Büscherhof 1, 42799 Leichlingen
Approximately half of the route follows the Balkantrasse railway cycle path with a gentle incline. Families and inexperienced cyclists should allow for a 500-meter section where they may need to push their bikes.
If you wish to cycle the Wupper loop in the opposite direction to the recommended route (i.e., clockwise), you can save yourself the approximately 100 meters of elevation gain between Unterburg and Oberburg by taking the cable car up to Burg Castle – as it also transports bicycles (e-bikes only up to 20 kg). Further information can be found here. www.seilbahn-burg.de
