Green, greener, Gierath Forest: If you're looking for a quick escape to nature from Cologne, Bergisch Gladbach, or Refrath and want to clear your head on a roughly ten-kilometer hike, then this trail lets you immerse yourself in nature right from the city's edge. Starting at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bergisch Gladbach, the circular route leads you to three nearby lakes and the Grube Cox nature reserve, a former quarry transformed into a green oasis. A wonderful opportunity to simply take a break.
